Fetal Pig Dissection: Discussion

The fetal pig dissection was a very beneficial experience. It was very interesting, as well as surprising, to see how similar the pig's insides are so identical to that of a humans. When opened, it was very easy to see how each body part connected to one another.

MARKS EXPLANATION

So far, my mark is at 55% which I believe is no where near what i expected to be getting. To be honest, I'm not very surprised at my mark though. I have not given much effort to this class and it shows. My lack of motivation and interest has hindered my performance. For improvement, I really need to partake in studying and better preparing myself for tests and quizzes. As well, I need to do my homework consistently and effectively. A goal for my future mark, I believe I can achieve a 65% - 73%.

Lipid Synthesis

- Smooth ER --> transitional vesicles area --> transports ER products to various destinations

- Golgi apparatus help transport membrane components.

Cellular Respiration

- C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O(+ light energy)

- Both

- MITOCHONDRIA PROCESS: ATP is produced in the mitochondria using energy stored in food. It is all done by the process of respiration.

Photosynthesis

- green coloring matter of leaves/plants, essential to the production of carbohydrates by photosynthesis.

- 6CO2 + 6H2O(+light energy) --> C6H12O6 + 6O2

- Plant

- CHLOROPLAST PROCESS: chlorophyll converts light energy to chemical energy. Produces ATP and NAHPH energy.
